Where Portraits Become Legacy
Every portrait has two sides.
The front tells the story the world can see.
The back preserves something more personal.
Before the portraits of 196 Titans From This World begin their journey around the world, they find their home at The Sanctuary, inside Eagle’s Nest in Portugal.
This is where portraits become legacy.
The Invisible Legacy
The front of every portrait captures a remarkable life.
But on the reverse, another story is growing.
Titans are invited to sign the back of their original portrait and, if they wish, leave a thought, reflection or message for future generations.
These words remain hidden.
The front preserves the image.
The back preserves the voice.
One day, wherever these paintings may travel, that hidden trace will travel with them.

When a Titan Is No Longer With Us
For our living Icons, the invitation passes to their families.
Partners, children, grandchildren and relatives may leave a handwritten message on the back of the original portrait — a memory, a thought, or perhaps words that were never spoken.
In this way, their story continues through those who remain.
Sometimes the most meaningful part of a portrait is the part nobody sees.

The First Mark
For future Titans, the tradition will begin even earlier.
Before I make the first brushstroke, the Titan will be invited to leave the first mark on the blank canvas.
A signature.
A thought.
A message for the future.
Only then will the portrait begin.

Titans are returning to their portraits fifteen years later.
Some encounters do not end when the portrait is finished.

The Door Remains Open
The Sanctuary is not the final destination of these paintings.
When the 196 portraits are complete, they are intended to travel the world.
But wherever they go, they will carry something invisible with them:
the hand, the words and the presence of the people behind the portraits.
Titans and their families will always be welcome at Eagle’s Nest.
Every portrait travels.
The Invisible Legacy travels with it.

On 18 October, the doors of the Eagle’s Nest will open for a private afternoon of art, wine, stories and people.
Places are by reservation.
